Alyssa & Shaun had a classic black and white wedding at on a HOT June day! It’s been a while since I’ve seen a wedding party dressed in all black suits and dresses so it was fun to photograph!
After a year of planning, everything fell into place perfectly. If you have ever met Alyssa, you know that she is very detail-oriented and is such a pro at wedding planning! She had everything set out and ready to go for me when I arrived. I appreciate brides like this so much!
Alyssa got ready with her mother and matron of honor, and then did a surprise reveal to her bridesmaids. It’s so fun when brides do this because the girls always react with so much joy!!
Then it was time for the first look! There was so much emotion between these two when they finally saw each other! Wedding days have a lot of build-up, but everyone seems to breath easier once they are together.
Alyssa gave Shaun a pendant with a photo of his friend that had passed away when he was young. Shaun wore it close to his heart to symbolize his presence on this very special day.
The Proposal Story, told by Alyssa
“Shaun and I met his family at the zoo to take professional family pictures. The photographer had then asked if Shaun and I wanted to take a few pictures together, we were placed back to back, then she yelled “GO!”, so I had turned around and before I knew it Shaun was down on one knee holding the most perfect ring. I yelled “no” back at him which was my first reaction as in I couldn’t believe it was actually happening, but quickly correcting myself by saying, “I MEAN YES!!” It was well worth the wait for him to ask!”
Alyssa chose to do a first look with her dad too. It is obvious that they have a really tight bond with each other. She gave him personalized cuff links with their photo and it said, “Always your little girl.”

Next, it was time to head downtown to the reception at the Pub Station! The newly married couple drove there in style with Shaun’s classic black & white car!!
