I have been dreaming of photographing Alex & Colter at their Venue 406 Wedding for the past year! And it was just as beautiful as I imagined! Some of my most favorite vendors all worked together to make this day absolutely perfect for the couple!
I was excited to shoot at Venue 406 because it’s a newer venue in Red Lodge and has beautiful views of the mountains. But just a couple weeks before Alex & Colter’s wedding, Red Lodge had one of the worst floods in years! Luckily the venue wasn’t affected so we were able to move ahead with the big day!
Alex & Colter’s Love Story
“Colter and I met early on in highschool where we had many mutual friends and both played on the golf team together. Typical stubborn Colter had to play hard to get so we didn’t officially start dating until our Junior year. After moving to Bozeman in 2012, we both attended Montana State and started our careers. But we realized we missed our families and hometown, so in 2019 we moved back to Billings and bought our first home.
Both of us agree that we truly hit the jackpot with each other. We share all the same hobbies and interests and it makes doing life together so much fun! And the best part, our parents have become best friends and our families have truly become one. We are so excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to finally be married! Even if it took 10 years!”

One of my favorite moments of the day was at the ceremony. The bride and groom wrote their own vows to each other and ended up saying the exact same thing at the beginning, “It has always been you.” I guess you could say they’re perfect for each other!
If you don’t know who The Max are then you are totally missing out! But if you do, then you know that they’ve been playing together for 40 years and so it was kind of big deal to have them at Alex & Colter’s wedding! They are a great group of guys who are ridiculously talented!!
