You know what’s really cool about my job? I get to connect with couples from all over the country and show them the beauty of Montana while taking their photos! I love being a Red Lodge Engagement Photographer!
Lindsay & Shea came all the way from Illinois for a family trip in Cooke City and decided to book some engagement photos while they were here. We went all around the Red Lodge Pass and caught the most beautiful sunset at the top. Not to mention, we came across some furry visitors in the parking lot — MOUNTAIN GOATS!!! It was such an epic session!!
I loved getting to know them and could’ve visited with them all night! I wish they were getting married in Montana so I could see them again! Maybe I can convince them to come back for anniversary photos!
Red Lodge Engagement Photographer
Their Proposal Story – Told by Lindsay
Believe it or not, we met waaay back in preschool! We actually have a handful of pictures playing together… so we must’ve been friends?! Then we spent many of our school-aged years in the same classrooms and/or hallways, “officially” becoming friends in 8th grade. After sophomore year of high school we reconnected and after spending our Homecoming dance together, the rest is history! Now 8 years and an engagement later, we are truly ready to start our lives!
Shea and his family have been traveling out West for several decades as a family trip each summer. I always knew how special and cherished these trips were to Shea right from the very start – being surrounded by family, lost in the mountains with no cell service, and enjoying the unreal beauty we cannot find in Illinois! This past August, I joined his family to head towards the Cooke City area for a week of relaxing, family time, puzzles, fishing, hiking… Our very first full day, we head out for a hike to “Bridal Falls” which was a hike up to a beautiful waterfall that you could stand right underneath!
While I was oblivious and distracted taking pictures with my camera and being awestruck by the views, little did I know Shea was nearly jumping out of his boots with nerves! Once I finally walked over to him to take another picture of the view, he got down on one knee and I’m pretty sure I said, “No way, you’re joking”, he responded, “No, it’s happening!”. It was beautiful! A perfect day and surrounded by family (Who took some great photos as well!). It was anything I could have hoped for!
