Karly & Matt’s wedding was everything the couple had dreamed of! Set on the family’s private property, it was the perfect location for their intimate Bozeman Wedding!

I actually met Karly & Matt during a wedding at the same location one year prior to their big day. They came up during dinner and asked if they could hire me because they were so impressed with how I worked throughout the day. What a huge compliment!

I was so excited to see them and their family again a year later! I knew the day would be chill, fun, and beautiful!

My favorite thing was how much they included their three dogs in everything they did. Chance, Benelli, and Widgeon were always a couple feet away from their mom & dad as they watched them become husband and wife. If you know me, you know that my happy place is surrounded by dogs so this wedding was a dream!

Surrounded by their friends and family, they celebrated into the night with dancing, great barbecue, and some fishing at the local pond.

Karly’s engagement ring is a Montana sapphire with antler inlay. Matt’s wedding ring is whiskey barrel, antler, and a feather from a Pintail duck that he shot last fall. The rings were so different & cool!

Karly made bracelets for her mom, sister, and herself using fabric from her mom’s wedding dress.

All three dogs mean the world to the couple, but especially Benelli and Chance. Matt got Benelli when he was in college and on his own. Karly got Chance after she graduated college and lived by herself so they wanted as many pictures of them as possible. Mission accomplished!

Intimate Bozeman Wedding Ceremony

Fun fact: The couple got engaged on winter solstice and later realized their wedding would fall on summer solstice! It was perfect weather for their special day!

The centerpieces were all about places the bride & groom have traveled to. Such a unique touch!

Their Love Story

Matt spent months planning the ring and proposal. He bought the ring in the fall, showed Karly’s sister in October, and then her parents in November. To keep it safe, he hid it in a pistol safe, knowing she never remembered the password!

Fast forward to Christmas in Hawaii, where they were visiting his grandparents. On their first full day, Matt suggested a family picnic at one of their favorite parks, followed by watching the “green flash.” Karly unknowingly helped him out by asking his mom to take a picture of them on the lava rocks.

Soon, everyone joined in for a family photo. After that, Matt and Karly posed together, and before she knew it, he was down on one knee. Karly was so surprised she burst into happy tears, and he even had to ask again to be sure that she heard him.

The couple enjoys doing anything outdoors, especially if they can do it with their dogs. They go fishing, hiking, hunting (especially turkey, deer, duck, pheasant and rabbit). Matt & Karly also enjoy cooking, traveling, and exploring new places. They definitely have a fun life together!
